As we look toward 2050, we're seeking an Executive Manager Place and Economic Development to help shape the future of our city.

About the Opportunity:

In this vital role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee operations across Planning and Place, Economic Development, and the Property Portfolio. As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll contribute to the development and implementation of City of Darwin's strategic vision, ensuring organisational effectiveness and compliance while driving innovation and growth.

Key responsibilities/Leadership:

Lead the Program Area to deliver on strategic priorities, ensuring timely achievement of objectives and budgetary requirements. You will prepare and present reports, monitor performance, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. As an enterprise leader and member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will actively contribute to organisational leadership, identify risks and opportunities, and build strong partnerships across government, industry, and stakeholders to champion integrated land use planning, property management, and economic development.

Key responsibilities/Operations:

Shape Darwin's future by driving strategies that create vibrant places, attract investment, and foster economic growth. You'll lead transformative planning projects, champion collective innovation through initiatives like the Movement Strategy and Place and Liveability Plan 2050, and position Darwin as a destination for business, tourism, and international partnerships. From activating city spaces and delivering events that engage locals and visitors, to managing strategic property assets and strengthening global relationships, this role is about turning vision into meaningful outcomes for the community.
