Building Services Officer
Full-time | Permanent role
About the Opportunity:
The key objective of this role is to develop, plan and manage building assets to ensure they are in a fit for purpose, compliant with relevant standards and safe for use, while meeting City of Darwin's strategic outcomes. The position is required to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and effectively engage and manage a diverse range of contractors.
- As part of a team, directly contribute to the efficient management of the Building Maintenance Section by actively contributing to planning and implementing works programs for Council's built assets.
- Coordinate contractors to undertake required new, upgrade, renewal and maintenance projects for Council's built assets.
- Liaise with contractors to identify and remedy deficiencies in service delivery.
- Appropriately scope and plan work to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely project delivery.
- Assist with the preparation of building specifications and provide estimates for building projects.
About YOU:
The perfect applicant is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and problem-solving skills. They have experience in building maintenance, project management, and working collaboratively with contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient outcomes.
You will have:
- Relevant trade qualification
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in the building / construction industry
- General Construction Industry - White Card
- Possession of C Class Driver Licence
- National Criminal History Check

This position has a commencing base salary of $ 88,528.02 per annum plus 11.5 % superannuation.
