City of Darwin has a limited-tenure position for Coordinator Youth Programs from mid-April 2026 to late January 2027. The successful candidate will have experience managing teams, delivering on strategic plans, building partnerships, and will understand the importance of centring young people's needs and interests in their work. This is a full-time role however we are also open to filling the position part-time (0.8 FTE).

About the Opportunity:

An opportunity has become available to join the Community & Cultural Services team as Coordinator Youth Programs, limited tenure, from mid-April 2026 to late January 2027.

The Coordinator Youth Programs supports a team of three to address the priorities and actions of the City of Darwin Youth Strategy 2022-2026 through the delivery of regular youth programs and the development of sector partnerships.

Underpinned by City of Darwin's municipal and strategic plans the Youth Programs team's work supports Darwin's young people to develop skills to navigate a changing world and participate fully in community life.

This position has a commencing base salary of $104,792 per annum plus superannuation 12% As a City of Darwin employee under the current enterprise agreement you also get access to our wellbeing program, employee assistance counselling program and receive 17.5% additional pay when on annual leave.

You will have:

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in youth, community development or similar
  • Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an operational leadership / supervisory role
  • Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
  • Working with Children's Clearance (Ochre Card)
