City of Darwin is looking for a Digital Communications Lead to take charge of our digital presence and help tell the story of our vibrant, colourful city to the world.

As part of Darwin 2030 City for People. City of Colour, you'll lead the strategy, content, and delivery across our website, intranet, and social media platforms, shaping how our community, visitors, and stakeholders connect with the City of Darwin.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, Communications and Engagement, you'll be the organisation's go-to authority on all things digital. You'll lead a small team, including the Digital Communications and Support Officer, and work collaboratively across the organisation to develop, deliver, optimise and continuously improve digital content that informs, engages and connects with our community while supporting Council's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning and growing City of Darwin's digital communications channels website, intranet, social media and emerging platforms
• Acting as the primary point of contact for website development, email marketing, social media, SEO and digital advertising
• Leading social and digital marketing strategy to keep Council's presence contemporary and effective
• Monitoring performance and trends, and presenting insights and recommendations to senior leaders and Council
• Coordinating the Digital Contributors Group and supporting staff across the organisation with digital skills and guidance
• Managing budgets, business planning, and performance reporting for the digital communications function
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a small digital communications team

What you'll bring

• A Bachelor degree of Marketing and Communication or equivalent qualification, and/or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar field
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including managing staff
• A current Class C Driver's Licence
• Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
