About the role

Are you a strategic procurement and contracts leader who enjoys building capability, strengthening governance and delivering practical outcomes? As Manager Contracts and Procurement, you will lead City of Darwin's procurement, tendering and contract management function and play a key role in supporting high-quality services for our community. You will guide the development of contemporary strategies, policies, procedures and frameworks that enable compliant, commercially sound and timely procurement across Council.Key Areas of Service Delivery Responsibilities include, but not limited to:-

• Lead end-to-end procurement, tendering and contract development activities that are timely, transparent, compliant and commercially sound.
• Design and embed practical policies, procedures, templates and frameworks that make procurement easier to navigate and consistently applied across Council.
• Provide trusted specialist advice to senior leaders, departments and stakeholders on procurement governance, compliance, probity and contract management matters.
• Plan upcoming procurements, contract renewals and sourcing activities so teams are supported early and opportunities are well managed.
• Champion procurement and contract management training that builds confidence, capability and accountability across the organisation.

About you

You will bring a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership and relationship-building skills. You are confident interpreting complex information, providing clear and practical advice, and working with people across the organisation to achieve better procurement and contract outcomes. Your approach is collaborative, solutions-focused and grounded in sound judgement, integrity and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you must have: -

• Degree in a relevant discipline or at least five (5) years of experience in a similar role
• Minimum three (3) years relevant supervisory experience
• Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
• Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence
