Community Development Officer
- Level 6 - $95,527.33 per year plus 12% Superannuation
- Part-time / Permanent (3 days a Week - Mon, Tues & Wed)
- 6 weeks annual leave
About the Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a community-minded professional to champion access and inclusion across the City of Darwin. Working closely with our diverse community, this role plays a key part in ensuring equitable access to services, facilities, and programs. The position also provides essential support in delivering City of Darwin's Access and Inclusion Strategy 2025-2030.
As a Community Development Officer, you will:
- Work as part of a committed and welcoming team within the Community and Cultural Services branch of the City of Darwin.
- Provide specialist expertise in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of current and future Access and Inclusion Strategies.
- Collaborate with government and non-government organisations, community groups, individuals, and internal stakeholders to initiate and deliver community development initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive, high-quality reports and present findings to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
- Represent the City of Darwin on relevant external network groups including the DiversAbility Collective.
- Support and contribute to the successful implementation of the City of Darwin Access Strategy 2025-2030.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Diploma in Community Services or similar qualifications and/or equivalent qualifications and/or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role.
- Class C Drivers Licence
- NT Working With Children Check.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
