One of our popular family programs is our Fun Bus mobile playgroup that offers free, fun, and informal space where parents, carers, babies, and children aged from birth to 5 years can come together to have fun, play, and learn in a relaxed and friendly environment. The Fun Bus operates weekdays between 9:30am and 11:30am at different locations in Darwin.
What do we ask you to do?
City of Darwin is looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to undertake our Children's Support Officer role who will be responsible for the delivery of Fun Bus mobile playgroup service, school holiday program and family centric activities and events.
You must enjoy working with young children and families and be comfortable and capable of working in the outdoor environment that we have here in the NT.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use their vision and experience to deliver innovative educational programs in community spaces to maximise social and cultural inclusion. Joining a team full of passion and a commitment to making a difference, the Children's Support Officer can play a central role in the community by making a lasting and positive contribution to the families of Darwin.
This is a part-time position; 22.5 hours, Monday to Friday. It requires physical lifting of equipment and participation in physical outdoor activities with children and families, a passion for customer service, as well as driving Council vehicles including vans and towing trailers up to 6 metres in length.
The Children's Support Officer position has a base salary of pro-rated $72,342.21 per annum + superannuation. We also offer generous benefits such as 6 weeks annual leave and 15 personal/carer days.
