    About the Opportunity

    This role will require development, implementation and evaluation of effective strategies, partnerships and projects that increase access, inclusion, and participation across City of Darwin. The position also provides essential support in delivering City of Darwin's Access and Inclusion Strategy 2025-2030.     The role will also work closely with the City of Darwin Access & Inclusion Advisory Committee, made up of residents with lived experience, those who work or volunteer with people with disability and those who have expertise in the area to ensure community members engage and participate in local decision-making with the City of Darwin and across the broader Darwin community.

    As a Community Development Officer, you will:

    • Provide Strategic expert advice in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of current and future Access and Inclusion Strategies.

    • Prepare comprehensive, high-quality reports and present findings to the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee.

    • Represent the City of Darwin on relevant external network groups including the DiversAbility Collective.

    • Contribute to the successful implementation, reporting and promotion of the City of Darwin's Access Strategy 2025-2030.

    About you

    To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive knowledge of community development, access and inclusion, and a proven ability to apply these principles effectively within both organisational and community settings.

    You will possess a strong understanding of equity and disadvantage within our community, along with demonstrated experience in communicating, advocating, and influencing positive outcomes.

    You will also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong stakeholder engagement experience, and well-established project management expertise.

    Pre-requisites

    Diploma in Community Services or similar qualifications and/or equivalent qualifications and/or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a similar role.

    Class C Drivers Licence

    NT Working with Children Check.

    Ability to obtain a National Police Records Check
