City of Darwin is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join the Innovation Hub as an Economic Development Officer within the Place and Economic Development Area. This dynamic role provides the opportunity to contribute to projects and initiatives that support and strengthen economic and business growth, and advance the strategic objectives of a smart, prosperous, and vibrant Darwin.

About the Opportunity:

This role is responsible for project delivery and providing stakeholder engagement and administrative support to the Economic Development team in the Place and Economic Development Program Area. The role plays an important part in implementing City of Darwin's Economic Development Strategy, delivering key programs such as the Street Food Program, and supporting broader economic development, events, and international relations initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver Economic Development projects and initiatives, including engaging with local businesses, organisations, and industry to advance the objectives of the Economic Development Strategy.
• Manage the City of Darwin Street Food Program, including vendor engagement, permit administration, and identifying program development opportunities.
• Support the planning and delivery of events across the Economic Development portfolio, coordinating stakeholders, documentation, logistics, and reporting.
• Assist with the delivery of broader economic development, sponsorship and international relations programs and initiatives, responding to enquiries, preparing reports, and engaging internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare high-quality documentation and communications, including research and analysis, funding applications, project plans, web content, Council reports, and continuous improvement of procedures and guidelines.

You will have:

• Certificate IV in Business Administration, Project Management, or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
• Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar role
• Class C driver licence
• Ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
