Senior Project Officer

The City of Darwin is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer to join our Infrastructure team to help deliver the City's Capital Works Program in line with our strategic vision Darwin 2030 - City for People. City of Colour.

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager Capital Projects, this pivotal role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of complex capital works projects. You will lead project planning and implementation, manage contractors and consultants, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to quality standards. Strong stakeholder engagement is essential, with responsibilities including community consultation, liaison with service authorities, and preparation of high-level reports and briefings.

You will contribute to the continuous improvement of capital works delivery through effective governance, innovative design and construction approaches, and sound contract and financial management. Working within an agile, high‑performance organisational model, you will embody Council's CARES values and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners.

This position has a commencing base salary of $114,675 per annum plus superannuation 12% (For employees under EA) As a permanent employee you also get access to our wellbeing program, employee assistance counselling program, district allowance and receive 17.5% additional pay when on annual leave.

You will have:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or at least 10 years industry experience.
• Possession of a Class C Drivers Licence.
• Possession of an OHS White Card.
