Customer Service Officer

Part-time (0.4 FTE) permanent position

About the Opportunity


We are currently seeking a self-motivated and experienced Customer Service Officer with a passion for providing exceptional customer service both face to face and over the phone in a high volume, fast paced, multi-functional environment. You will be a part of the team managing daily customer engagement including reception services, telephone and electronic enquiries and transactions.

The key service delivery of the role includes, but not limited to:

  • Attend to customers promptly, impartially and courteously, considering characteristics, needs and diversity.
  • Inform customers on the range of services provided to the community by the Council as well as by other agencies and community organisations.
  • Process payments, permits and complaints efficiently and accurately.
  • Work professionally, cooperatively and respectfully with other team members to accomplish joint tasks and build positive working relationships.


The position has a pro-rata base salary of $73,789.06 per annum plus superannuation. City of Darwin also provides generous leave entitlements such as pro rata of six (6) weeks annual leave and pro rata of fifteen (15) days personal leave.

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Certificate III in Local Government / Business Administration / Customer Engagement or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a customer service environment
  • National Police Records Check
  • Drivers licence C Class
