About the Opportunity:
The City of Darwin is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Coordinator Asset Management to provide leadership, accountability and strategic direction for Council's Strategic Asset Management (SAM) functions.
This senior role is responsible for leading the planning, implementation and delivery of asset management strategies, systems, programs and initiatives that support sustainable service delivery and long‑term community outcomes.
About the Role:
Reporting to senior leadership, this position has primary authority and accountability for managing Council's asset management practices, systems and teams, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, legislative requirements and industry best practice, including ISO 55000 and ISO 55001 standards.
You will lead the Assets and GIS Team, oversee enterprise asset and spatial systems, and play a critical role in supporting Council's long‑term financial planning, capital works programs and governance reporting.
About you:
We are seeking an accomplished asset management professional with strong experience in strategic and operational leadership within complex environments. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee enterprise asset and spatial systems, and deliver sustainable, long-term asset strategies. Highly organised and outcomes-focused, you balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
With strong communication skills, you engage stakeholders and provide clear, informed advice to support governance and decision-making.
You are a collaborative and values‑driven leader who promotes accountability, respect and excellence. You are comfortable leading change, driving continuous improvement and championing innovation, particularly in the use of asset management systems, GIS and data‑driven decision‑making.

This position has a commencing base salary of $114,675 per annum plus superannuation 12% (For employees under EA) As a permanent employee you also get access to our wellbeing program, employee assistance counselling program, district allowance and receive 17.5% additional pay when on annual leave.
You will have:
- Relevant bachelor's degree qualification with graduate certificate in asset management.
- Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in an operational leadership role
- General Construction Industry - White Card
- Possession of a Class C Drivers licence
