Precision meets purpose, Join City of Darwin's Waste Services team as a Senior Weighbridge Officer at the Shoal Bay Waste Management Facility, and help drive our 2030 Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy forward.

About the Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Resource Recovery Operations, you will support the weighbridge team at Shoal Bay, ensuring compliance with licence conditions, overseeing weighbridge operations, and maintaining oversight of City of Darwin's kerbside waste collections.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and processing waste disposal applications in line with legislative and licence requirements
  • Monitoring weighbridge budgets and completing daily EFTPOS financial reconciliations
  • Liaising with the weighbridge software provider to ensure effective system operation
  • Coordinating bookings for the education centre
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, agendas and minutes with high attention to detail
  • Working closely with waste collection contractors to ensure high-quality, efficient service delivery
  • Providing guidance and training to weighbridge staff
  • Supporting the annual Pre-Cyclone Clean Up and other special projects at the facility

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate III in Waste Management or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • The ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check
  • A Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card)
  • A current C Class Driver Licence
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion and confidentiality
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and adapt to a dynamic operational environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
